Lozinski's Bandwidth Protector - Version 4.1

Whether you have Unix or NT/2000, running Perl, PHP, or ASP/VBScript, prevents someone from "stealing" the URL to reference pictures located on your website. I got tired of people linking to pictures stored on my web server, and thus developed this program to stop that.

WHAT'S NEW IN THE LATEST RELEASE?

Multiple "valid" domains are now supported so you can allow other specified domains to link to your images.

SEE THESE SCRIPTS IN ACTION!

(NOTE that my ISP does not support ASP, and thus I cannot show you the ASP scripts in action. The ASP scripts work exactly the same way.)

  1. View the images and click on the "link" to the image below to see the linked image.
  2. Copy the entire HTML SOURCE code next to the corresponding images in a document on your webserver.
  3. View the webpage you just saved on your webserver. Notice the images are now completely different? MAKE SURE TO CLEAR YOUR BROWSER's CACHE AND/OR HOLD DOWN THE "SHIFT" KEY AND CLICK "RELOAD" WHEN YOU VIEW THIS PAGE ON YOUR SERVER. This is to make sure your browser doesn't used the cached images from viewing them on MY site.

These scripts work in one of two ways. They prevent people from linking to images on your website:

  1. you reference through the HTML IMG tag.
  2. you simply link to through an HTML Anchor tag.

You can even program this script to NOT return any image at all!

The picture formats this script helps protect are gifs, jpegs, bitmaps, png files. The program can be easily expanded to accomodate others as long as you know the MIME type!
