Kentucky: Floral Clock, Daniel Boone's Grave, Frankfort Overlook


Built in 1961, Kentucky's Floral Clock is planted with 13,000 Alternanthera and Santolina foliage plants. The planter is 34 feet in diameter and weighs 200,000 pounds. The base is faced with native Kentucky Field Stone. The minute hand is 20-1/2 feet long and weighs 530 pounds. The hour hand is 15-1/2 feet long and weighs 420 pounds.

Daniel Boone was an American frontier settler of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. He is best known for his exploration and settlement of Kentucky.
